My phone is not just what keeps me in touch with family and friends, my cell phone is my assistant in life. It's what gets me up in the morning (alarm), it keeps me on track (schedule) and it assists me in all of my social media posting. I am a HUGE social media addict and I am highly active all day, everyday. My phone also helps me research recipes, school work for Sammy and it's the e-reader that I use right before bed. Seriously, there is no other tool that I own that does as much work as my phone does.
It's no secret that I love a good value and that's why for over three years now my family has been on the Walmart Family Mobile plan. Even Sammy my 9 year old has her own phone and that's because with the low cost of a WFM plan, we can afford it. The phone that they all have right now is the really nice LG G Stylo which is currently $179.00 (currently on rollback from $199.00). This is a great phone with a lot of bells and whistles. With unlimited data, I never have to worry about how much we all use our phones (unlimited Talk, Text, Data; 10GB 4G LTE per line for $49.88).
As a bonus, each WFM plan gets a free movie rental on VUDU every month ($7 value), which we all watch together on Sunday nights. I always prepare a treat for movie night, so this Sunday I pulled out my LG G Stylo with one of my old recipes from the blog and I set to recreating it. One of the perks of having a blog with a lot of recipes is that any one of us can pull up an old recipe from our phone and make the dish. It's neat that technology has taken us so far where they don't even have to call me for the recipe, they just go on the blog from their Walmart Family phones.
Because this is such a great recipe, and summer is just around the corner, I will share it with you today. I think you will love it! This is a twist on the original Mexican Bionico which is a fruit salad that incorporates whichever fresh fruits you might have on hand or whatever is in season. Lately, the fruit in our area hasn't been very sweet, and that's why this recipe is perfect because of the sweet condensed milk we will be using. I always make this if I happen to buy a batch of sour oranges or berries.
Bionico (serves 6)
2 medium apples
2 medium pears
2 medium oranges
2 Nature Valley Granola Bars
1/2 cup of shredded coconut
1/2 can of sweet condensed milk
Directions: Cut and peel all of your fruits and then just put them together in a large bowl. If you have kids who want to help, allowing them to add the fruits in one-by-one is a lot of fun for them. When you get to the granola bars, break them up in the package so that you have chunky pieces and that delicious added crunch in the salad. Once all the fruits and condensed sweet milk are in the bowl, slowly fold it all together.
Yummy! This is one of our favorite recipes and it's so much cheaper to make it on your own than to buy it at a specialty Mexican shop. I invite you to recreate this during your next family movie night, and watch the family enjoy it.
I also invite you to check out Walmart Family Mobile available only at Walmart. If you have a large family like my own or just don't want to pay an arm and a leg for your data plan, they are a great carrier. Just pick a phone and starter kit and start enjoying unlimited service, for your unlimited life.
We're ready to enjoy our FREE VUDU movie on our smart tv and to enjoy our delicious Bionico. Cheers!
