#FOTD Featuring Bite Beauty - Sammy Makes Six

#FOTD Featuring Bite Beauty

I have a LOT of makeup and as hard as I try there will never be enough time to review each item or even all the items I want on Red Lipstick Diaries (my makeup blog). Instead I am starting a new feature here, which will give this blog a touch of beauty, where I will share a Face of the Day and do mini reviews on the items I used for the day. I always use a mix of high-end and drugstore cosmetics so it should be a good way of sharing a lot more products with you.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a makeup artist nor am I even great at applying it. I  have just recently started using eyeshadows, and have never worn a false lash in my life. I also don't do that crazy countouring you see on Instagram. What I am is a simple chick wearing makeup for the love of it and learning as I go. Because really the only way to get better at anything is to practice and after years and years of wearing makeup a certain way, I am learning a lot of new tricks.

I hope you enjoy this new series. I don't promise to get up a lot of posts for it but hopefully a few per month.

Foundation: Estee Lauder Doublewear is my favorite full-coverage foundation. Every single time I wear it, I ask myself why I don't wear it more often because it leaves such a perfect finish. I have tried a few other full-coverage foundations, including the newer Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation, and this is for me the best one. It glides over my pores and doesn't age me the way the Marc Jacobs one did. Who the heck needs to be aged by their expensive foundation? Not me.

Mac Fix+ : I have combo skin which gets very dry in certain areas so anytime I wear this foundation I spray copious amounts of Mac Fix Plus + on my skin before applying the foundation. This does not cut down on the coverage at all but does make the finish less matte/dry looking. I love wearing Fix+ under a lot of my foundations, it's an amazing product that everyone should try. And it has many more uses!

Bronzer: Milani Bronzer XL in Dolci from the Dolci Collection. I like this a lot and have been reaching for it for a week now. This is a darker shade than the Wet n Wild Color Icon in Caramel Toffee that I usually use, it definitely gives me a more "bronzy" look while the other is more of a gray contour. You can find this at CVS or Walgreens for about $10.

Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Savored doesn't look like much in the pan but this is a beautiful blush when applied. I have two of these blushes and rarely use them because they look kinda boring, but each time I go to use one, I am reminded of how beautiful they wear and how pretty the shades look on the skin. Plus these babies have some major staying power. These are pricey I won't lie, but I just recently picked up their holiday 5-blush set which I will review soon and that one is a super value.

Eyeshadow: Lancome Color Design Palette in Reflets Mediterranee from the French Paradise Summer collection. This is my favorite palette! I got it for Mother's Day after really thinking it through because for me the prize for 6 shadows seemed high. But the quality is so there! These eyeshadows are super pigmented, incredibly soft and I LOVE the blue and brown shades. I have worn this a lot and even though it's only six shades, I have come of with a variety of ways to wear them. I would say this palette is worth the splurge, AS LONG as you're going to use it. I try to reach for it as much as I can and that's why it's worth it to me and I would totally buy another in the future.

Mascara: Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black. I just bought this after hearing many good things about it but I don't think this mascara is for me. The wand has plastic bristles that are really separated and since I have such sparse lashes, when I run the wand through them nothing happens. I have to do three coats in order to make them look okay and even then the results are not as nice as let's say Better Than Sex mascara or even the Jordana $3 mascara. I think mascara really depends on the type of lashes one has and I can see this working for someone who has more lashes than I do.

Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tatto Liner in Trooper is my new favorite liner. I got this deluxe sample size from Sephora after almost a year of trying to decide if I want to go back to spending over $20 for liner. Now I can truly say it will be worth it, this liner is pitch black, matte and makes application so much nicer. My liner is looking much better since I started to use it and while I will still use my other liners, I will be getting a full size of this as soon as I run out.

Brows: Maybelline Brow Drama Pro Palette . I am really enjoying this new brow product. It's about $11 which I think is fair since it should last quite a while. This shade is perfect for my brow color and I even use the little angled brush it comes with. I usually hate doing my brows and this has really simplified it.

Lipstick: These two shades are from the Bite Beauty Best Bite Rewind Holiday Collection. I will have a full blog post on Red Lipstick Diairies this week. The shades I am wearing are Cafe (above) and Coulis (below). This set was the first time I try Bite Beauty and I am super impressed. I ordered a second Best Bite Rewind already for one of my girls and will probably try some lippies soon. I totally recommend this cute holiday set that is super affordable.

All the products used are below, let me know if you have any questions on any of them.

I hope you enjoyed today's post with a look into a full face of products. Do you currently use any of these items or do any catch your eye?
