This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Real California Milk, however all opinions are my own.
July is National Ice Cream Month, and to celebrate we have been enjoying plenty of it, not that we need extra encouragement to enjoy this sweet treat. Summer is in fact the best time of the year to have some extra ice cream in your life, the days are long and hot and a cool ice cream cone or cup make the days sweeter. I try to take the kids out for a cone at least twice a week and of course we always have a few flavors to enjoy while at home. When purchasing ice cream I always look for brands made with 100% real California milk that feature the Real California Milk seal, which can be found on a wide variety of brands, including store brands. When you see the Real California Milk seal, you’ll feel good knowing that the product is certified as having been made with 100% Real California Milk from Real California Dairy families. I live in the Hemet/San Jacinto area, which boasts a lot of dairy farms. We see these on our way in and out of town all the time, so being able to support our local farms when purchasing with the Real California Milk seal feels good.
Just three scoops of mint and chip ice-cream and some extra chocolate topping and we have a yummy snack or treat that makes our day so much better. And even lazy ol' me can get that made up in just a few minutes. Sammy's mom is NOT the best cook, but she sure can come up with some good snacks! Want a bite?
Ice cream is a treat meant to be shared and enjoyed often. There are a number of ways to enjoy ice cream featuring the Real California Milk seal – from milkshakes and ice cream sandwiches to plain, good ole ice cream! For recipe ideas, visit the Real California Milk website or their ‘Real California Recipes’ online cookbook. Tomorrow we are making real fruit paletas with strawberry ice cream, what's your favorite way to enjoy ice cream?
