I confess...I am not the biggest fan of football. Yeah I can tolerate it and even watch a really good game with plenty of enthusiasm, but it's not the reason that I attend game day viewing parties. For me, it is all about the food and the act of celebrating with friends and family. There's nothing quite like a huge group of family and friends all standing at attention waiting to see who will make the next touchdown. The emotion of having your team win, and the sadness and disappointment that comes with them losing! Game day get togethers are just so fun, and there is no better time to indulge in some extra snacking. Today I am sharing how you can take some SNICKERS® and Skittles® to make a trail mix that everyone is going to love digging into, including the kids, cause it's gonna be chock full of candy!
Sure we have a lot of really fattening and greasy foods on game day as well, those are the best ones! But I am always a fan of adding a nice variety that always includes veggies and fruits and some not so bad-for- you items too. This is really important when some of your guests like to have healthier snacks. Not that this snack is healthy, but it is definitely one of the least sinful on our game day menu. This is the snack that I don't mind letting the kids have several servings of.
SNICKERS® and Skittles® Trail Mix
2 cups Quaker Simply Granola Cereal
1 cup trail mix (dried pineapples, bananas chips, papaya, raisins and coconut)
3/4 cups chopped up Fun Size SNICKERS®
1/2 cup Skittles®
This requires almost no prep at all. Simply cut your Snickers into small bite sized pieces and then mix all ingredients together. Quaker Simply Granola is full of oats, honey, raisins and almonds so along with the fruit mix will give you the MOST delicious trail mix ever. Adding the candy gives it an extra yumminess factor that everyone is going to LOVE!
