Setting Goals & Keeping Them

New years resolutions, everybody's got them, but who is actually going to stick to them? I'm not like most people who set resolutions every new year, and then usually break them a few weeks in. It's not that I believe myself to be better than these people or believe myself to be too good for this, it's that I am more of a realist. I know ahead of time that I will never stick to any resolution. I am a very hard headed person and I have the will power of a recovering gambler in Vegas, so why subject myself to it? Instead I like to set goals for myself to be reached by end of year, it's a lot less pressure, AND I have found that it works a lot better for me. Truth be told, having 12 months to do something buys me a lot more time to start and stop, make mistakes and eventually hit that goal. There's nothing worse than setting yourself up to lose, so instead I set myself up to win, well sort of. This year I am setting some goals and with the help of Walmart's Family Mobile Plan and Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web plus my phone, I aim to reach them.

Last year I set a goal for myself to lose the 40 extra pounds my tummy is carrying around (no joke I look like I am carrying triplets here), and I did NOT reach it completely. Instead of losing 20-40 pounds, I lost 10. This year I am going to approach this elusive goal with a better plan of attack and more aggressively, because this IS the year that I lose those extra pounds. It's about getting my heart healthy so that I can be around to see my grandkids grow up & so that I don't cringe every time I spot myself in the mirror. I am wearing a size 18 pants, which is the biggest size I have ever worn. I don't aim to go down to my usual 10-12, I would be happy to go to a 16, but I need this tummy to go down in order to do so. A size 16 pants that fits me well with no bulges or rolls, that's all I want. I don't feel it's asking so much right?

As part of my plan I am letting my brand new LG L90 cell phone into the action by downloading apps to aid in weight loss and exercise. I usually only use my phone for calls, texts and social media, never have I used it to help me better myself. I didn't even realize how many apps there are to help you do just about everything. How did I not know that my phone could be such an amazing asset?

With my Lg L90 I can do everything from make a shopping list complete with meal plan, track my steps per day and download so many apps that will get my inactive rear end moving. Back in the day when my little girls were very small, I used to work out at home (ala Denise Austin), so I know that it IS possible to exercise on your own and lose weight. What I have been missing is the motivation plus the tools.

You too can get a very moderately priced phone like the LG L90 (Rollback price of $119.00) with an unlimited plan from Walmart and Family Mobile. This phone used to be almost $200, so it's the perfect time to pick it up. Pair it with the WFM $34.88/month Unlimited Talk, Text & Web service and you can have the the same tools as I to reach your new years goals.

With my LG L90 in hand and a strategic plan, I am ready to keep the goal of becoming a healthier me. I don't think it's going to be a cake walk, especially cutting down on favorite foods, but one day at a time we shall go. At the end of the day there is no rush, I have a year to keep to my goal and there is plenty of room for trial and error. What are some of your new years resolutions?
