NYX Memorial Day Sale #Haul - Sammy Makes Six

NYX Memorial Day Sale #Haul

Last Saturday I did some surfing online to take advantage of some Memorial Day sales. NYX had an Up To 40% Off Sale on a very limited selection of their products so I decided to grab some stuff. The sale items which were mostly 10-20% off were not really all that great but I had a 20% off code plus a $5 birthday promo code, which then made the sale worth shopping. I already had most of these items in my shopping cart for about a week, so the added incentive of a dollar of two more off on certain items was a nice perk and I ended up scoring a super deal for my haul since I saved $16.15 off my total.

First in my cart was a back up of NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Foundation, which is one of my favorite foundations. What I really enjoy about this foundation is the overall finish, which is more natural looking and not cakey at all. It is medium coverage and buildable to almost full, but unlike many other foundations, this does not seep into my pores or make my wrinkles show up more than they already do.  It also does a really nice job keeping me shine free for a good part of the day and this shade is the perfect match for my skin. Now I have a backup off my foundation and next time I can back up the partner powder compact. I believe in having back ups of all my faves.

This was NOT part of the Memorial Day sale so it was $7.50 but after my discounts I paid $5.71.

NYX Butter Lipsticks have been on my wishlist since they came out. I have had them in my cart so many times now including the last time I placed an order. The problem is that the colors that I want always happen to be sold out. The three I want that where sold out are: Hunk, Licorice and Razzle. I will have to keep an eye out for those but at least I was able to get two of the others I had really wanted in Fireball and Mary Janes.

These were NOT part of the Memorial Sale, their regular price is $6 and after discounts I paid $4.21 a piece.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick. It came up really red in this picture but this lipstick is actually the most amazing shade of coral, ever. Fireball above is also coral so coral is definitely going to be my go-to summer lip color.

This WAS part of the Memorial Day Sale. Priced from $6 to $5 and after my discounts I paid $3.11 for it.

NYX Cream Shadows have also been on my wish list for some time. I really wanted these two in Hunter Green and Copper, as well as a beautiful purple shade which I ended up not getting. I am not a big shadow wearer because I don't know how to apply it, so I always opt for shadows that I can just swipe on my lid and go. I've seen these swatched and they are so pretty and since they were on sale, I had to grab them.

These WERE part of the Memorial Day Sale, priced from $5 to $3 and after my discounts I paid $1.86 each.

I haven't used a lip liner since sometime in the 90's but I decided to get one in red for the recent glosses I have been buying. I have a few that bleed a little and will see if a liner will help keep them in place. I also grabbed another NYX Jumbo Pencil, I have two and I really love how creamy and smooth they apply. These are just like a lipstick but in a lip pencil form. I grabbed the color Burgundy which I can't wait to try out!

Both items WERE part of the Memorial Day Sale. NYX Slim Pencils were priced from $3.50 to $2.50 and after discounts I paid $1.11. NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils were priced from $4.50 to $3.60 and I paid $2.81 after discounts.

The piece de resistance of my order has got to be the NYX Illuminator in Narcissistic. This pictures does absolutely no justice to this beautiful compact. I had the hardest time picking between the 5 shades available. This is a champagne color with gold sheen but there is another in peachy pink with gold sheen and glitter (Magnetic) that I couldn't pick between. If I end up liking this as much as I think I I will, I'll just have to get that next time. I will have swatches of this up on Instagram this week because I can not wait to try it out.

This WAS part of the Memorial Day Sale, priced from $9 to $8 and I paid $6.21 after discounts.

As you can see, the Memorial Day sale really wasn't anything to write home about on it's own, but my added promo code and coupon code really made it worth while. NYX is one of my favorite brands and I love trying new items, like the Illuminator, the Butter Lipsticks and those shadows! I can't wait to see how good, or bad they all are and I will be sharing on IG and here at some point.

What did you score during a Memorial Day sale?
