Ipsy June 2014 - Sammy Makes Six

Ipsy June 2014

After last months fail of an Ipsy bag, it was nice to get so many great products this month. Three full sized products, a cute islander style bag and a beach spray Cici has been asking to try for months, this is my June Ipsy bag.

Be A Bombshell
Lash Out Mascara  full sized product ($15)

DD Cream Dermatologically Defining BB Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sample size $38)

Marc Anthony
Dream Waves Beach Spray sample size ($8.79)

Nicka K New York
Shimmer Eyeliner full sized product ($4.99)

Butter Gloss full sized product ($4.99)

Cici has been asking for this product for months so it was a very nice surprise and a very decent sized sample. I have not tried it myself but she will be using it soon and if it is as good as she hopes it is, we can then go buy it at Walgreens. So far the reviews I see for it are super positive so I am pretty sure it will be a hit and getting it from Ipsy is nice because we can try it before committing to the full size. I also like this is an affordable drugstore product that I can buy easily enough.

NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair is a big plus in this months bag. I own like 5 of these and like them a lot. I did not have this color, because I mostly have reds, and deeps so it was nice to get a color I would not normally pick for myself. It's really pretty on and I can def see me using this a ton.

Nicka K New York Shimmer Eyeliner is a very shimmery liner with a great applicator that lets you go thin or thick. I wore it all day yesterday and it stayed put all day. I love the glitter and how eye catching it is, and love that this i only $5. This green is not a color I would normally wear but I would love it in a purple or black!

This is my first Nicka K product and I look forward to trying more of this brand out.

At first I was excited about the full sized Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara but boy does it smell bad! All mascaras have a scent to them, but this is an extreme paint/paint thinner scent that is so overwhelming you can smell it the entire time you are applying it. I'm not too delicate with scents unless something smells rotten, so I tried it anyways and it seems to be a decent enough mascara with a good brush. I would not ever buy it though because the results are not good enough that they cancel the scent out. Be a Bombshell really should do something about the smell because I know many people will not be able to get past that and not even give it a try.

DERMAdoctor DD Cream Dermatologically Defining BB Cream is my last item and because I haven't worn makeup for a few days, I haven't gotten to try it out. The reviews on Ipsy are really good so I can't wait to see how good it is. The Ipsy discount is nice enough that if it's good, I would order it because my skin is going through so much right now. It seriously needs some help.

Overall my June Ipsy bag is a big hit, I love all the products and I know we are going to be buying a few of them afterwards. This is exactly why I joined Ipsy, to get the opportunity to try products out in a more affordable manner. I can't wait to see what we get in July!
