Life Is Short, Buy The Lipstick!

Thank you to tarte Cosmetics for sponsoring today's post.

Today I want to talk about my fanatical love for cosmetics. If you follow me on social media, you might know what I'm talking about. I started using cosmetics when I was about 15 years old. Now I am 40 years old and I love my makeup as much, if not more than I did at that age. It's an obsession, it's a hobby, it's a part time job and it's just something that I really enjoy. Makeup has always been a tool that I use in order to make me feel better about myself. And while I don't think I am a hideous monster that needs makeup in order to go out into the world, I do know that it makes a big difference in how confident I feel. This is why I don't mind seeing young girls getting into makeup and skin care at an early age. It's not about feeling so bad about yourself that you need to change what you look like, makeup is a tool that enhances the beauty that you already possess. So if you want to spend some extra money this week on that fabulous lipstick that just came out, or the foundation that is going to make your skin flawless, I say DO IT! Buy the product that is going to make you feel better in your skin.

On that note I want to share with you a few of the products that I have on my wishlist. These are items that I have been researching for a while and have heard many raves about. I work very hard and I don't give myself many breaks, so if I want to treat myself to some goodies, why shouldn't I?

I am also on the hunt for a great waterproof mascara to help hold the curl on my super straight lashes. One of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus suggests curling your lashes and applying a coat of waterproof mascara to hold the curl all day. My lashes need that waterproof mascara ASAP. This is why I love YouTube so much, so many tips and tricks to be learned!

At the end of the day, I am super okay with my love of cosmetics and how much I spend on them. I know that I work hard and that I deserve to buy all these wonderful goodies. The next time you really want to buy something but you feel all kinds of guilt about spending the money on yourself, remember that YOU DESERVE IT!
