Today I have a review on another E.L.F. goodie that hit it out of the park. If you've been wondering about the Studio Conditioning Lip Balms...keep reading.
From Eyes Lips Face: With the e.l.f. Conditioning Lip Balm, lips get treated to a sheer splash of color that's super smooth, velvety soft and non-sticky. Not only are these sheer, natural shades beautiful, they're also beneficial, with natural ingredients that condition dry, chapped lips including Vitamins A & E.
When these lip balms first came out I was so curious about them, especially after seeing mostly favorable reviews for them online. The price on these is $3.00 since they are from the Studio line. There is a total of 5 shades and they always happen to be sold out on a few of the colors, so they seem to be a pretty big hit.
Presentation wise, I like this a lot. I know there are a lot of complaints about how bulky the acrylic box is, but I like how unique it is from all my other lip products. This box is just like the one the gel liner comes in, but much, much larger.
I ordered the Mellow Melon and am so pleased with the color. It is a sheerer product but still applies a beautiful wash of color that shows through, at least with this shade. It has a sweet scent and glides on to the lips so smooth and creamy. The texture is thicker than a lip gloss but it looks and feels like one when you are wearing it, minus the stickiness. This balm does have a sweetish scent (vanilla), which I don't mind at all, as you can see below you get a nice sheen that is not overly glossy.
I would recommend purchasing a brush to go with this, unless you are okay dipping your finger in it. I have long nails and dipping into anything with them can get messy. Plus the whole germs thing...I try to avoid dipping my fingers into anything.
The e.l.f. Studio Conditioning Lip Balm contains SPF 15, which I think makes this a good product to throw in your bag for daily wear. I do love how it made my lips feel, very buttery and soft and I can see me wearing this even when I have no other makeup on. That hint of color is enough to liven up my face while making my lips feel great. But if you are looking for a balm because your lips are chapped, this might not be enough for you. I don't see how it would heal chapped lips, other than to make them feel less dry and soften them up.
I love this for everyday, and I think it looks really pretty on. You can see I have a wash of color on my lips, that they are soft and that sheen makes them look much better than with nothing on. I give this product a big thumbs up and would def repurchase, at this point. I hope to get a few more colors in the future as I can see this being a great go-to for the summer months!
