Luckily this Thanksgiving we are spending it here at home, which means we don't have to do any traveling. Having had so much experience with my own 4 girls and traveling as much as we used to, I don't really find it hard at all. But I see so many women/couples that have a really hard time getting the entire family organized for a holiday trip. There are parents who even have a hard time during a simple day trip. I believe a successful trip all depends on how you prepare and how well you pack what each child will need. Here are a few tips that I follow when packing the kids up for a holiday trip.
Tips for preparing your family for holiday traveling:
Kill the boredom - I was once on a six hour flight with four kids under the age of 8, I know what hell is. One of the most important things you need to pack is a few of each child's favorite things so they can keep busy. I pack Sammy's backpack full of coloring books, crayons, her Kindle Fire, even some small toys. For a smaller child like Anthony, I pack his favorite stuffed dog and a few small toys that always keep his attention.
Bring on the snacks - always carry with you not one but several baggies or containers of each child's favorite snack and some juice boxes. Even a simple bag of Cheerios can be your best friend when your child is crying and ready to throw a tantrum.
A trustworthy diaper is key - no one wants to deal with leaks and accidents during a trip. Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers with New SureFit Design have a Unique flexible waistband for all-around fit and provide up to 12 hours of leak protection.
Germs, germs and more germs - I am a germaphobe and always carry plenty of sanitizer with me. Carrying a pack of Huggies Natural Care Wipes with New Triple Clean Layers, is also super important. Those will get the grime, the food, the germs and all that stickiness kids manage to get into, cleaned right up. The strong, absorbent layers are super soft on skin, so you can wipe their entire body down if you need to. Yeah, sometimes you need to.
The comfort of home - each child has a few things that make them feel protected and at home. Their favorite sippy cup, that raggedy blanket they drag around or maybe that favorite pajama. Pack it all.
No one ever said packing for children was going to be light, nor should it be. I would much rather have extra stuff and have all the kids have everything they need, than to have them throw a hissy fit because I forgot their favorite toy. If you look in Adrian's car you will know this is true. There are pillow pets, blankets and an extra stack of Huggies Snug & Dry as well as Huggies Natural Care Wipes with New Triple Clean Layers. These really are a lifesaver for everyday, I encourage you to try them out for yourself. Find out more about all Huggies products by visiting Huggies online. You can also follow Huggies on Facebook.
