Today I am giving you my first impression on Mac's Studio Fix Powder plus Foundation. I purchased this a few weeks ago after doing a TON of research online. I just really want a good powder/foundation that will give my skin the coverage it needs, while keeping it free of oil. This seems to be a favorite of a lot of people for years and years. Having NEVER tried a Mac foundation before I was really curious. I own one Mac lipstick (Diva 1) that my daughter gave me and that is all. I have never purchased any Mac item before so I am also really curious about the quality. I like their prices, having been a Lancome lover for years, I know Mac is priced a lot lower. Depending on this item, I might want to delve more into their huge line of cosmetics, but we will see.
The Studio Fix Powder is $27 and comes in this nice little black compact. I do love the Mac look, I have always thought their packaging is very cool looking and sleek. It is available in 40 shades (that is a lot of shades) and you get .52 oz of product. The description on the site is as follows:
A one-step application of foundation and powder. Gives skin a smooth, flawless, all-matte, full-coverage finish. Long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. A real all-in-one. The choice of pros, and a long time favorite of M·A·C fans.
I don't have a lot of time to do my face when I am going out, that is why I always look for products that are all-in-one. I have been trying a lot of different items and I was about to order the Mineralize Skin Finish powder when I ran into this. I am looking for a Matte finish that last all day. I don't touch up during the day, who the heck has the time to do that? I need a product that can stay with me and look good until I am ready to take it off.
Presentation wise it is a beautiful product and presentation is always a big part of what first attracts me to a product. Now I will set about to trying it out and hopefully it works. It has so many amazing reviews online that if it doesn't, I will be super shocked. As a little FYI, I did wear it out yesterday and didn't notice much of a difference. I did not wear it alone but instead on top of one of my favorite foundations. Throughout the day my skin looked the same as it always does, but then again I was so busy I didn't really have the time to really look at it closely. But I will take some time with it. I want to test the product alone over a moisturizer to see if the foundation/powder all-in-one is true and I will try it again over a foundation. I also have the NYX Stay Matte but Not Flat foundation and powder coming to compare against this, so it should be very interesting. I will be back in a few weeks with a full review. Stay tuned!
