Before handing my daughter the keys to the car for the very first time, we had already had many conversations regarding safe driving habits. One of the biggies for me has got to be technology and not using it while driving. We no longer have to worry about kids just playing with the radio, or playing around with other friends in the car, now we have to worry about cell phones too. Phone calls and texting are leading causes for accidents and deaths in teen drivers.
As parents, it is our responsibility to ensure that we prepare our kids as to drive as safely as possible. By practicing 2N2™ whenever teens drive - keeping 2 eyes on the road and 2 hands on the wheel - they are conditioned from the very beginning to follow rules and practice safety.
State Farm’s “Celebrate My Drive” campaign is encouraging communities to support their teen drivers. By making a commitment to safe driving we can be role models for them by showing them how important it is to make safe choices while driving. You can still make your commitment by visiting Celebrate My Drive online.
