This is part of a compensated campaign with Latina Mom Bloggers and Huggies. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
Parents are faced with challenges on a daily basis, but how we get through these challenges is what makes us stronger in the end. My girls and I are a very close knit family and when one of us faces a problem, we all have to deal with it together. This is how we are dealing with Anthony and his lack of talking. I talk a little more about the problem here. Basically Anthony is now 24 months old and is barely starting to say a few words, and by a few I mean 4-6 words. At first doctors were not too concerned but when he reached his second birthday they finally decided to get him some testing and make sure it's not just him developing slower than the norm.
One of the things that we are doing to get him to open up, is taking him out of the house more so he can interact with the world. The other day I went on a shopping trip and decided to take him with me. This is something I normally don't do on my own because he can be quite a handful, but I realized I don't spend enough alone time with him. So I grabbed the kid, two of his Huggies, some wipes, and hit the road.
That day I realized one really big thing about Anthony. He is not that much of a handful. I mean yeah he has a TON of energy and he always has to be on the move (I knew this already), but he is more of a pain when his mom is around. I thought I would have a really hard time controlling him or keeping him calm, because he tends to cry a lot at home. But four hours and two stores later, this little guy never once cried. I admit now that grandma had this little guy pegged for a difficult baby, when he is just a normal little guy who was very happy to be out of the house and doing some shopping.
One of our stops was Target, where we grabbed some Huggies® Snug & Dry Diapers with NEW SureFit* Design. These diapers provide up to 12 hours of leakage protection so I only changed him once while we were out. The Unique flexible waistband for all-around fit keep the diaper comfy and snug against him even while he was break dancing and doing his ninja moves. Yes, Anthony happens to be a ninja. We also grabbed some Huggies Natural Care® Wipes with NEW Triple Clean* Layers, which this kid goes through like crazy. The strong absorbent layers keep not just his little bum clean but because they are gentle on skin and thick enough to clean messes, I used these throughout the day to wipe the little face and hands that kept getting dirty. These are the perfectly practical wipes that I still carry with my Sammy who is already six, because they clean everything!
Of course at the end of the day grandma kept her deal and let him pick ONE toy out and of course he had to pick the noisiest toy he found. We went throughout the entire store making loud popping noises and as people saw or rather, heard us coming they practically ran away.
Another mom who is also learning how to deal with parenting challenges, is first time mom Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera. Her little son Sebastian is now eating and getting all kinds of messes happening and Zyleyka shares with us in her new video how she lets him explore and enjoy new foods. You can watch the third video in her Huggies series La Prueba del Travieso Comelón con Zuleyka y Huggies and feel free to comment and let her know what you thought about the video. I enjoyed seeing her little boy and how much he loves his food! Zyleyka's webisodes will be uploaded monthly and can be viewed on the Huggies Latino Facebook page.

I know we are going to beat this no talking issue. That day Anthony was so happy to be out and about that he expressed himself many times. I am going to plan many more excursions out with him and hopefully he will open up some more. This is just a challenge we have to get through, but I know everything will be okay in the end.
How do you deal with the daily parenting challenges that you are faced with?
