For this #cbias shop I was excited to get to try out the Philips Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on the beauty products I purchase for myself. I am an avid cosmetics shopper and will literally hunt down items that people recommend online. Even though I stick to less expensive brands most of the time, I still spend a pretty penny each and every month on my looks. Basically that's what it is isn't it? All that money we spend on cosmetics, skin care, clothing and accessories, all this is for the sake of how we look.
There is one area that I have been completely overlooking and it's probably the most important area too. My smile. It's the very first thing you see when you look at me since I happen to have a huge mouth. And even though my teeth are happily crooked (each dancing to a different step), I still have a huge smile that I happily show off to everyone. But my smile needs some help, it really does. I can live with the imperfect teeth but what I noticed during the three weeks I have now been using the Sonicare PowerUp, is that I can no longer live with a grimy smile.
I brush twice a day just like it's recommended, and I always rinse my mouth with mouthwash. But obviously that hasn't ever been enough because I have always had dental problems. I guess I am one of those people that start to have bad teeth at a very young age and it just never gets better. But I realize using a regular toothbrush probably hasn't helped either. So Adrian and I hit our local Walmart to find the Sonicare PowerUp so I could see how much of a difference it would make in a few weeks. You can see my complete shop in my Google Plus album here.
As soon as I laid eyes on the Sonicare PowerUp, I knew this was completely different. A sleek looking, yet affordable electric toothbrush that can give give you a month's worth of brush strokes in one day! What planet have I been living on this I didn't realize this was a necessity in my life? It's not like it's expensive at all, being under $20. The power that this toothbrush has is incredible and you can actually feel how it is scrubbing away at the stains and tartar. I am not a smoker but I am a huge coffee drinker and you know that means major yellow teeth.
There is no comparison between my manual toothbrush and the Sonicare PowerUp. They are just simply too different to be compared, especially when you are fighting against cavities, bad gums and so many stains. If you use a manual toothbrush like I do, have you ever realized that we are using such an antiquated design? Just check out this video on the evolution of toothbrushes so you can see how the toothbrush has remained practically the same since the beginning of time. 5000 year old technology? YIKES! I think it's time for an upgrade!
I found that the Sonicare PowerUp is an affordable way for me to PowerUp my brushing and get a much better oral cleanup. It basically does all the work for me and even just with three weeks use, I already see a much cleaner smile. I am really happy with my results.
