Have a Sweet Allergy Season w/ Less ALLERGY FACE

This post is part of a sponsored campaign on behalf of Latina Bloggers Connect and the makers of ZYRTEC®

This allergy season hit me like a ton of bricks, literally. It's been a battle to fight them long enough to be able to go outdoors with my daughter. Fortunately I know many little tricks that I do on a daily basis, that help me fight the worst of it. It's all about keeping a cleaner home, bedroom and body as well. I also have a few natural solutions, that while don't get rid of the allergies entirely, at least help me feel much better. The main ingredient for my do-it-yourself solutions is something really delicious too, so there is no struggling to get it down. Honey is a wonderful and almost magical ingredient, that can be used to alleviate so many things: a soar throat, acne, uneven skin tone, and it has many topical uses as well.

Honey is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory so it is really great for calming skin and lowering swelling which is caused by allergies. A lemon and honey mask not only lower swelling but have been helping me clear up a lot of those blemishes that tend to pop up in the summer because of the heat. In a hot tea right before bed or even just a spoonful, is wonderful for my throat. A few months ago, natural honey is what finally helped me kick a 2 month old case of bronchitis.

Also familiar with #ALLERGYFACE is #LatinaBlogger and beauty and fashion expert Carmen Ordoñez, @VivaFashion, who has teamed up with the makers of ZYRTEC® to share her personal beauty tips to combat ALLERGY FACE™. Carmen's personal motto is that you can look great without having to break the bank (awesome) and has some wonderful tips that will really help with ALLERGY FACE. Here are a few of the ones that really resonated with me because again, they are natural ways of dealing with symptoms.
  • How to Relieve a Puffy Face: Try drinking watermelon juice.
  • Watermelons are a high water content fruit and are an excellent source of antioxidants.
  • How to Help Hydrate a Puffy Face: Eat more fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, celery and zucchini all of which have high water content. Citrus fruits and berries are also rich in vitamin C.

My mom has been using honey forever to treat many of her ailments. It really does help fight many of the typical allergy symptoms and much more. With ZYRTEC, Carmen Ordoñez's tips, and a little bit of honey, you'll be feeling a lot better. Get more tips to help combat ALLERGY FACE by visiting ZYRTEC® on Facebook.
