When I got divorced in 1999, I had to sit down and make a list of all the things that I would from then on be responsible for. I had an apartment to pay, a pretty hefty car loan, utility bills and of course my children to think of. I was essentially a single mom with 4 kids under the age of 13. It was from then on, my responsibility to make sure that they had everything they needed and that if for some reason something happened to me, that they would be taken care of.

Nobody likes to think about death. But you have to think about it, and you have to plan for it, especially if you are a single mom. You do not want to leave your children with such an incredible burden upon them. Your kids should not have to worry about paying for your final expenses, a house mortgage, their education and so many other things. Already a loss is so tragic without having to add all those pressures and worries. A recent study suggest that women are not buying as much life insurance as men, and are either solely on their husband's life insurance or going completely without. This is such a scary statistic.

The good news is that life insurance is not as expensive as we may think. I remember being shocked when I finally got coverage for myself and finding out that I would only be paying $20 per month. I spend twenty bucks on a lipstick, I couldn't believe that was all it was going to cost me to be insured. Of course coverage depends on many variables like; age, health, and smoking habits as well as other things. But overall, it is a lot more affordable than most women think and it is always a good idea to get informed about costs and coverage.

Buying the right life insurance for you might take some research and time, which can be made easier by finding a company like Genworth Financial to help you sort it all out. In the end, buying life insurance will probably be one of the best decisions you have ever made. It will really make sleeping at night, so much easier. Protect your loved ones and feel secure knowing they are taken care of by finding out more about life insurance today.

When my father passed away and my mother had to try to get things taken care of I knew then that I wanted to make sure that wouldn't happen to my family when I passed. I sat down and started to make a list of what I need to do and first was have my burial paid in full so I purchased a plan to pay it off monthly with everything included in the package. I believe it is a very important thing I did for myself so as not to burden my family with these expenses.
