Fall, my favorite time of year. In California, a real fall is hard to come by, the heat seems to last all throughout the year and rain has been lacking as of late. The one thing we can always count on though, no matter what the weather, are our favorite fall foods and drinks. There is nothing better then walking into your local coffee shop and being immediately surrounded by the smell of pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin scones, hot apple cider, and other seasonal goods. But of course there is one fall treat we look forward to the most, Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving in most houses is about being thankful, for us Thanksgiving is all about the food, specifically the turkey. Seeing as how Thanksgiving is still over a month away and I'm already experiencing my annual turkey craving, I was more then excited to get to try Arby's new Grand Turkey Club.
Served on a toasted Harvest Wheat bun, with turkey sliced fresh in-store, served hot with melted Swiss cheese, super crunchy pepper bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato, and mayo, The Grand Turkey Club, has craveability written all over it.
I really splurged and got the entire Grand Turkey Club meal which included onion rings and a soda. I could not help myself and also got a cherry turnover for dessert. To tell you the truth I was expecting an average turkey sandwich but when I opened the box was blown away by how much turkey this had, and not any old turkey, these are slices of juicy turkey, and they add a lot of it. The bacon was super crunchy and added so much flavor and texture to the sandwich, and the bun was just a treat. I truly enjoyed my club sandwich and liked the idea of having that versus a greasy hamburger, which is what I usually get when we eat fast food. It was delicious, very filling and yet didn't leave me feeling overstuffed at all.
Fall has always been my favorite season. The food, the weather, the holidays, all of it adds up to the perfect time of year and now with Arby's new Grand Turkey Club I don't have to wait till next month to experience some of that yummy turkey. If you enjoy a good turkey sandwich I suggest you try it, and if you are looking for a low calorie alternative just skip the mayo and that brings it down to only 380 calories.
Stay in touch with Arby's and visit their site where you can use the Build-a-Meal calculator to calculate your calories. Once you try it, tweet them (@Arbys) and let them know what you think. I am definitely planning on having another Grand Turkey Club very soon, mayo and all!
