Do you need a lawer? - Sammy Makes Six

Do you need a lawer?

Normally just the word lawyer leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Because it usually means that if you find yourself having to deal with a lawyer it's because you are having a major problem. But at the same time though a lawyer costs more money than we usually have around, they can actually get a job that you have been unable to do on your own, done.

A few years after my divorce I found myself having to go see several lawyers and in the end hire one to help me. The divorce had been handled by someone else and all that had gone through smoothly but my problem was I was not getting my child support. Some months I was lucky enough to get $800 (which was still not the total amount) but other times my ex would say he had expenses and give us 200-400. I put off getting the lawyer for so long because I did not have the retainer money but one day my older sis sat me down and gave me the money, then sent me with cash in hand to pay for the attorney and soon my case was underway.

It took less than a month for the entire case to be processed and the military soon began to take my payment directly out of his pay. To this day, this is how I get my kids money, every month on the dot. I lost over $9000 during the time that it took me to hire that lawyer, money which he could have gotten for me but which I decided to just let go off rather than cause a bigger problem, but I so wish I had done it before.

So if you are ever in need of a lawyer new orleans of any kind, you really need to weigh what it's going to cost you to hire one against what you will get in return. For me it was completely worth it and if I could I would go back and do it a lot sooner than I did.

I feel often times I am pressured to get a lawyer. When I was just a freshman in college I was run over on my bike, and my mother wanted to get me a lawyer...I let them run the whole thing since I had no idea what was going on, what any of it meant, and I was in the middle of recovery! In the end I got much less than I should have. So although lawyers, yes if you need one get one, sooner than later! Definitely do your own research too!

Unfortunately i have an ex-husband who is just like yours. It took the district attorney threatening to throw him in jail for him to pay up and now they also take it out of his pay. You know you can still get all that money your ex owes you right? You should try to get it.
